Our biggest imprint will always be the coffee
EverBean was created to give everyone a better coffee, but with the smallest possible footprint on the planet. For us, it is essential to measure and develop on the parameters that make sense to consumers.
Why it doesn't make sense to compare yourself to others
At EverBean, it doesn't make much sense for us to measure our carbon footprint directly against our competitors. Not because we're not ambitious – quite the opposite – but because it quickly becomes an exercise that's more about numbers and image than real change.
Climate footprint is measured in scopes:
- Scope 1 is about our own direct emissions, e.g. from the gas roaster.
- Scope 2 covers our electricity consumption. But the big picture
- Scope 3 – lies far beyond our own walls: the transport of green beans, the cultivation, packaging, consumption and waste. This is where most of our footprint lies. But this is also where it becomes difficult to compare.
How others calculate their data, what sources they use, and what they include (or omit) varies greatly.
We could easily find nice averages and use them to look “better” than others. But that wouldn’t help us get better. Instead, we focus on what we can control and improve – our own processes, our choice of suppliers, and how we work with them to move in a greener direction.
For us, it's not about being "better than the others". It's about being better than we were yesterday. That's the only comparison that really matters.
We believe in a better world, with good coffee, social responsibility and consideration for the planet.
-
B-Corp certified
B Corp certification is an international standard for companies that balance profit and responsibility. It is not a one-time status, but an ongoing process where the company must constantly document and improve its social and environmental efforts. An eternal impact, not a goal.
-
Circular packaging with RE-ZIP
RE-ZIP is a circular packaging system where customers return reusable packaging via parcel shops and are rewarded for it. It reduces waste and CO₂ and fits perfectly with EverBeans' responsible approach to sustainable trade.

CO2 reduction
VortX Clean Air filter effectively cleans the air during coffee roasting by removing smoke and particles, improving the working environment and reducing environmental impact. Perfect match for EverBeans' commitment: clean air and quality coffee from bean to cup.

You decide
We know we can never make coffee without an imprint – but we decide what it looks like. It's our choice, our compromises and our responsibility.
When we choose a coffee, we never look at just one thing. It's always a balance between price, impression and taste. Marketability doesn't come first. We know we could sell more if we compromised a little more – but we would end up with something we didn't like ourselves. Something we couldn't stand for.
We work with the small producers. The ones who live in the shadow of the big ones – who don't have money for advertising, but who still keep going because they love what they do. Those are the ones we want to support. Not because it's easy, but because it feels right.
We are not perfect. But we try. We constantly ask ourselves: Can we stand behind this? If the answer is not a clear yes, then we don't do it. That's how we think about sustainability – not as a calculation, but as a conscience.
We commit ourselves to
-
1. Smaller footprint
We believe that even small steps can make a big difference. That’s why we’re constantly working to reduce our carbon footprint – from the way we source our ingredients to the way we package our products. In our roastery, we use a Vortx Klean Air filter that significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, and we’re working hard to reduce the use of single-use packaging. We’re constantly looking for smarter, more recyclable and environmentally friendly solutions so you can enjoy your coffee with a clear conscience.
-
2.More growth
We support and trade with coffee farmers who are passionate about their craft and the people around them. We partner with those who think of the community before personal gain, and who want to use their work to uplift their local communities. For us, good coffee is not just about taste – it’s about creating strong, fair partnerships with passionate people who want to make a difference where the coffee grows.
-
3. Greater potential
We want to create growth, not just for business reasons, but to be able to take on greater social responsibility. We believe that people thrive best when their unique strengths are allowed to flourish – not when they are squeezed into ready-made work boxes. That is why we want to create workplaces where there is room for diversity, development and new paths, so that together we can build something that benefits both people and the community.
