Coldbrew brygning med Hario Coldbrew flasken

Coldbrew brewing with the Hario Coldbrew bottle

I LOVE when things are easy and I can spend my time doing something more creative. That's how I feel about Coldbrew. In fact, I especially love coldbrew because there is very little bitterness in the finished coffee when brewing this way. It's simply a fabulous way to make coffee in the summer.

For Coldbrew I have made my own coffee blend, it is called ICED Coffee Blend and can be purchased here at the shop in several different sizes. This coffee blend is deep and dark in taste as a good coffee should be, but with a little nice sweetness and floral acidity on top of the taste. For me it is the perfect blend.

To make Coldbrew I use:

  • 1 piece Hario, Cold Brew Coffee Filter-in Bottle, which can be found here .
  • EverBean ICED Coffee Blend coffee, ground for Coldbrew, available here
  • Clean water, preferably spring water or water from a filter like AQUAPHOR's filter jugs, you can find them here

Procedure

Put 55g of coffee in the small mesh filter in the Hario Cold Brew bottle and put the "lid" on by turning the large rubber cap on top of the filter so that it is firmly attached to the cap.

Place the filter in the bottle and press the rubber cap firmly onto the glass bottle so that it seals tightly. You can now add as much water as you can until the filter is covered. That is approx. 750 ml in total.

Place the rubber stopper on the bottle and place it in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight (+12 hours, preferably 24 hours).

Remove the cap and take out the filter. You can now top up with extra water to fill the bottle. Twist the filter out of the rubber cap and place the cap on the bottle together with the stopper on top. You now have a lot of delicious Coldbrew "extract" that you can dilute with water, ice cubes, milk, plant milk or vanilla ice cream.

My two absolute favorites are either with milk, ice cubes and a little hazelnut-flavored coffee syrup to give it a little roundness in the taste. OR with vanilla ice cream and nothing else. Let the ice cream melt or blend it into a soft serve.

Welcome and have a good summer
